hula hoopin' it

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

Can I just be honest and say right upfront that this summer is not what I expected it to be. I knew when we got pregnant that my pregnancies are not a walk in the park. But this go around is nothing in comparison to the last. I suppose it is just my lot in life to suffer through the pregnancy to gain such a beautiful gift as a child.

Don't get me wrong, I know many of you struggle more than I. Some of you have trouble getting pregnant to begin with, some of you have trouble staying pregnant, and some of you struggle to keep you and your baby safe throughout. I simply am in pain, no real threat to me or the baby, just pain.

My point is, and maybe this is all too much information, too personal, but the real point today is that I am not hula hooping. Was that TMI to get to such a silly point!? I want to hoop! I can maybe hoop for about 20 seconds but that's it and THAT IS RIDICULOUS! :)

But, on to the other point and that is that while I am not hooping, someone in the house IS. :)

Little M is rockin' it these days. Seriously rockin' it.

So I made her a new hoop. A new, shiny, pretty hoop.

I love her last one, but it was pretty lame color wise. It was made using tape that can be found at local hardware stores, you know, very basic colors. Well last winter I made a fun hoop tape purchase for some more pretty colors: blues, greens, purples, pinks, etc. Also a fun shiny mirror tape.

And seeing as how I am not hooping I decided a new hoop should go to M since she is loving it these days. We'll hang out in the driveway, me sitting in a comfy chair under the carport/garage so I am shaded and relatively cool, and her spinning and hopping it up on her own. And although she has not mastered the moving of her hips to keep the hoop moving she does get the spinning of it more than she used to.

I love to watch her over and over and over. And she loves to say "want to see how I do it, Mom?" over and over and over. We have a good time.

I LOVE this shot and how the camera warped the hoop around, so fun. I use my little kodak flip video camera for everything these days even though it's not the greatest quality. I just love that it's small and always around and SO easy to upload photos quickly.

Happy Tuesday.

and Happy Summer.

:)

I love the new hoop, and the super hooping girl! I'm sorry this summer's been rough, but just imagine how great next summer will be, you'll be all over those hoops with a chubby little bebe playing on the grass next to you! :) And it's almost August, that means summer's almost done!
